Hovercraft racing

Anybody can "fly" a hovercraft. As long as you are able to stay upright and on your knees, you can do it!  It might be a little while before you are actually hovercraft racing, but we will teach you in no time.  Remember to keep your weight forward in the corners to balance the weight of your hovercraft and remember to never let go of the throttle when you are traveling sideways. There are not too many permanent hovercraft racing sites in the UK and at Hoverdays, we pride ourselves on having a fast, interesting course with tight corners and even a pool to fly over!  If you don't like the idea of actual hovercraft racing, and would rather just learn how to fly a hovercraft, there's no pressure, just take your time.

Age limit: 5 and above. 14 to actually take the controls.

How does a session work?
Hovercraft racing Groups of up to eight are instructed on the handling and safety and then each person will get runs in 2 different hovercraft before the racing begins. Hovercraft racing is quite physical, so you will appreciate the rest while you recompose yourself and laugh at others as they learn to "fly".  Anyone who has been hovercraft racing before is usually chosen to go first.

How long does a session last?
Generally 8 people should allow about 1.5 hours for the hovercraft racing. 16 people would be 3 hours. If you have an activity gift voucher or are here as part of a smaller group, your time will be a bit less, but you should allow at least an hour.

Other Information
Hoverdays has been teaching people the skills required for hovercraft racing for 6 years. All our instructors are very experienced and (most importantly) very patient. We understand that it isn't the easiest sport to pick up instantly, but we aim to make sure that everyone can get around our track inside 4 minutes by the end of the session. We get customers from all over the UK but mainly from North Wales, Birmingham, Telford, Liverpool, Manchester and Shropshire.
